Ava Bruni

Freedom and Justice
The Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom
Proclaiming liberty throughout the land
Unto all the inhabitants thereof
It is the same as the fourth of July each year

Proclaiming liberty throughout the land
Celebrating the white man’s freedom from the monarch of Britain
It is the same as the fourth of July each year
The same type of people establishing Juneteenth as a holiday

Celebrating the white man’s freedom from the monarch of Britain
And those who ignorantly don’t know the importance of it
The same type of people establishing Juneteenth as a holiday
Trying to satisfy with symbolic victories rather than real justice

And those who ignorantly don’t know the importance of it
Unto all the inhabitants thereof
Trying to satisfy with symbolic victories rather than real justice
The Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom

Clara Pagano

Unto all the inhabitants thereof
A holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans
Heartwarming, really.
The day that finally ended slavery in the United States.

A holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans.
We cannot turn back on the truth.
The day that finally ended slavery in the United States.
BLACK history is AMERICAN history.

We cannot turn back on the truth.
How is the celebration of the end of slavery not an independence event?
BLACK history is AMERICAN history.
A great day for all Americans to celebrate.

How is the celebration of the end of slavery not an independence event?
Heartwarming, really.
A great day for all Americans.
Unto all the Inhabitants thereof.
